About This Role:
This role supports engineering with design and CAD duties, using technology to generate designs for complex projects. This involves applying knowledge of machines, engineering standards, mathematics, and materials. The role also supports team operations and plays an integral part in promoting a strong health and safety culture. This position is vital to the success of engineering projects by providing accurate and efficient design support. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of CAD software (Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and related engineering principles and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a full-time position.
What You’ll Be Working On:
2D and 3D Design and Modeling: Prepare detailed design drawings using Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create detailed 2D and 3D designs for complex projects. This includes SolidWorks Electrical Schematics/3D software designs for medium and low voltage systems, control panel designs, and various other complex EI&C designs. Incorporate feedback and revise models as requested.
Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Collaborate with team members to establish timelines and budgets and solve problems. Analyze data and situations to develop creative solutions.
Engineering Calculations and Design: Perform calculations for Power Distribution Centers/buildings, complex data center power/control buildings, power panels, and UPS backup systems. Design control panel layouts, communication systems, fiber optic cables, Ethernet, and serial communications.
Material Selection and Database Utilization: Utilize large material property databases to select optimal materials for modeling. Stay up-to-date on advancements in material and software technologies. Address limitations of technologies and materials in the CAD process.
Documentation and Manufacturing Support: Take ownership of the Bill of Materials (BOM). Create clear, concise shop drawings and design for optimal manufacturability, cost, and time efficiency.
Project Management and Compliance: Comply with schedules and budget hours for CAD efforts across a wide variety of industrial projects. Attend regular development meetings.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical Schematic and 3D Mechanical, and Excel. Ability to learn new software quickly.
Manufacturing Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience of 2-3 years working in a manufacturing environment.
Project Execution: Ability to take direction from the engineering team and work independently to design systems per project design specifications. Ability to work closely with engineers, adhere to budget guidelines, schedules, and client specifications. Ability to check engineering drawings.
Software Familiarity: Solid computer literacy in MS Office and Google products. Experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software, Acumatica experience is a plus.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Eagerness to learn with strong listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work in an environment where changes to the scope of work are the norm.
Physical Requirements and Compliance: Requires lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling merchandise up to 50 lbs. Comfortable with sitting for long periods. Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back to operate computers.
Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Compensation:
Compensation will be paid in the range of $90,000 - $120,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
