Job Title: IT Project Manager

Reports to:  On-Site IT Program Manager         

Summary/Objective:   

The Senior IT Project Manager leads and oversees complex Information Technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet government stakeholder expectations. This role requires a strong understanding of technical project management methodologies, IT expertise, and excellent communication skills. The Senior IT Project Manager will guide local teams, develop project plans, track progress, mitigate risks, and manage timelines. They will also be responsible for government stakeholder management and ensuring project alignment with organizational strategy. By mentoring, leading, collaborating, supervising, and interfacing with DNI employees and government customers, this individual ensures that their assigned projects are performed at such a level that DNI can successfully utilize past performance to pursue similar contracts and continue to help the organization grow.  Maintaining an excellent reputation with both employees and government customers alike is an integral function of this role along with ensuring compliance with DNI corporate vision and mission. Candidate must have strong personnel leadership skills to drive morale, productivity, collaboration, and overall performance. 

 Responsibilities: 

This individual will lead all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring and controlling, and closure. They will proactively identify and resolve issues, manage change requests, and ensure quality assurance throughout the project. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering successful IT projects and a strong leadership presence.

 Equipment/Systems:

This position requires frequent use of computers including strong experience using MS Office products, MS SharePoint, email, and other various team collaboration tools.

 Competencies: The IT Project Manager role requires attention to detail, accuracy, ability to listen well, effective and timely leadership, relationship management, group and individual mentorship.  Expertise in information technologies, business development, lifecycle management, contract interpretation, tactical and strategic planning, analytical analyses, change management, process improvement, risk management, and resource management are also required.  The ability to multi-task in each of these areas while also mentoring others and fostering a spirit of collaboration and teamwork is critical.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Responsible for day-to-day tasking oversight of all personnel assigned to the project, which includes supervisors, task leads and their employee teams as well as subcontractors.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This job operates in an office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.  This is a largely sedentary role that primarily requires sitting at a desk in front of a computer for long periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, regular business hours; additional hours as needed to ensure performance across the program.

Travel: Primarily local travel for client meetings

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree AND 5-7 years of experience managing government projects in the information technology and/or cybersecurity arenas for both classified and unclassified systems.
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140 certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading personnel and technical teams.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading personnel and technical teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

  • Requires active Top Secret clearance from the U.S. Government depending on requirement
