Principal Device Engineer

Diamond Foundry is advancing the development of semiconductor devices leveraging intrinsic diamond, heteroepitaxial growth, and heterogeneous integration on single-crystal diamond substrates. We seek an individual with strong problem-solving skills who can apply physics and engineering principles to design, fabricate, and integrate innovative electronic devices.
- Simulate semiconductor devices based on market-driven specifications, utilizing tools such as Sentaurus, TCAD, or equivalent software to model electronic and transport properties.
- Fabricate and characterize prototype semiconductor devices (e.g., p/n junction transistors, homojunction or heterojunction-based structures), assessing electrical performance through experimental techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate developed devices into emerging products, ensuring compatibility with circuit designs and system-level performance
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with a strong background in semiconductor device development.
- Proven experience designing and fabricating p/n junction transistors using homo- or hetero-junctions with Wide Band Gap materials.
- Expertise in device physics, bandgap engineering, and power electronics devices.
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor fabrication processes, electrical characterization, and failure analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:

-This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions.
-Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs
-Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls
-Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
