We’re now looking for a Head of Industry and Commercial (AU) to strategically manage and grow Entain’s relationships within the Australian racing industry, covering thoroughbred, greyhound, and harness racing. Your primary goal is to drive commercial growth by proactively engaging with industry partners, negotiating deals, and identifying collaborative promotional opportunities that contribute to both the racing industry and Entain’s broader goals.

Positioned within the Commercial & Industry team, you’ll serve as a key liaison with various internal teams, such as Partnerships, Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Strategy, and Media. This position holds significant influence, ensuring racing partnerships deliver value, support business goals, and drive brand growth. Success is defined by securing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance Entain’s market position and foster innovation in the racing sector.

We have offices expanding across multiple locations in New Zealand and Australia. This is a full-time role open to candidates based in our Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney office locations.

Flexibility with travel and availability is essential, enabling you to actively participate in key industry events and build strong relationships with stakeholders every step of the way.

Your day-to-day... 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Entain and PRAs, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Proactively engage with PRAs to identify and maximise commercial opportunities for Entain.
  • Manage the race field fee renewal process, including negotiating relevant incentive programs.
  • Collaborate with the Brand and Client Engagement teams to drive commercial outcomes for Entain and its partners, including feature racing events.
  • Liaise with the Entain Media teams (including Trackside NZ) to explore industry-related opportunities and media rights discussions.
  • Work closely with the partnerships team to identify and execute club and industry sponsorship opportunities, as well as maximising existing sponsorship agreements.
  • Work with the Head of Corporate Development to explore potential M&A opportunities.
  • Represent Entain at key industry events, ensuring the company’s presence and engagement in the industry.

What you'll bring... 

  • In-depth knowledge of the racing industry, with experience in wagering, racing clubs, or regulatory bodies.
  • Proven experience in managing commercial partnerships and stakeholder engagement, particularly in regulated industries.
  • Strong negotiation skills, especially in product fee agreements, media rights, sponsorships, and commercial contracts.
  • Exceptional relationship management abilities, with a track record of engaging and influencing senior industry stakeholders.
  • Solid commercial and financial acumen, including expertise in deal structuring, revenue forecasting, and contract execution.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams to align industry agreements and initiatives with overall business objectives.
