About Garage:

Garage is the modern marketplace for secondhand heavy equipment — starting with fire trucks and firefighting equipment.

Serving fire departments is the first step in our mission to streamline the way heavy equipment is bought and sold, powering the backbone of America's industries.

We're funded by Y Combinator and have been growing quickly! Our small team (ex- Twitter, Ramp, Goldman Sachs, PayPal, Honey, Mem AI) is obsessed with user experience and shipping products end-to-end. As a software engineer, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our team, reporting directly to the founders and CTO.

Requirements:

  • Strong programming skills, especially in Typescript.

  • Ability and willingness to work in-person in NYC.

  • 1+ years of full-time SWE experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with NextJS, React, and Express.

  • Strong side projects.

  • Desire to serve customers in local governments and emergency services.

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science.

About the interview:

  • We review your materials (past work, projects, GitHub).

  • We do an intro call over Zoom.

  • We give you a take-home assignment.

  • We do an onsite in-person in NYC.

  • We give you a decision within a week.

Perks:

  • Competitive salary, stock option, and growth potential.

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Unlimited paid time off every year.

  • $100 / month wellness stipend.

  • Annual team offsite.

  • Events with other Y Combinator companies in NYC.

The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $175,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
