We’re looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our team in DeForest, Wisconsin. The HR Intern will gain valuable, hands-on exposure across the entire HR spectrum—from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations and everyday HR operations. If you’re proactive, detail-obsessed, and ready to roll up your sleeves, we want to hear from you.

 

Shift and Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday daytime hours during summer.Remote Work: This is an on-site position with the potential for limited remote work based on capabilities.

 

Compensation: The hourly compensation range for this position is $18–$19 USD . The compensation provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

 

You Will

• Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews• Coordinate interview schedules and communicate with candidates• Support the onboarding process for new hires and assist with orientation and training• Prepare employee-related documentation and reports• Assist HR Business Partners in responding to employee inquiries and maintaining compliance• Help organize employee engagement activities and events• Participate in HR meetings and contribute to discussions on employee relations• Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision• Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours• Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned

 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

• Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information• Valid driver’s license• Available for 12 weeks during the summer• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting recruiting or HR functions• Familiarity with HR systems or tools• Passion for team culture, people operations, and solving real workplace puzzles

Internships at Genus are not eligible for benefits. However, we offer paid internships with competitive compensation. Permanent roles at Genus come with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, long and short-term disability, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, and ETO (employee time off). Interns who excel in their roles are often considered for permanent positions after their internship.
