GreenLife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator in New York, NY. In this critical oversight role, you will help ensure long-term care facilities comply with Federal and State healthcare regulations, directly impacting the safety and quality of care for nursing home residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys, complaint investigations, and surveillance in long-term care settings
  • Investigate abuse, neglect, or regulatory violations
  • Draft detailed Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) using Principles of Documentation
  • Verify compliance with Plans of Correction
  • Perform data entry in federal and state systems
  • Participate in state monitoring during critical events
  • Testify at hearings as needed
  • Adhere to all DOH policies, schedules, and protocols
  • Travel for on-site inspections as required

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • License: Active NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years in utilization review, claims, medical review, fraud investigation, or monitoring; OR
    • 3 years of clinical or administrative experience; OR
    • Bachelor’s in Nursing + 2 years clinical/administrative experience
    • Minimum 1 year of nursing home survey experience is required
  • Certifications:
    • SMQT Certification is preferred (or must be obtained within 12 months)
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to on-site facilities
    • Strong computer skills and adaptability to new programs
    • Excellent communication, detail orientation, and analytical abilities
