Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a highly qualified Technical Support Specialist – Intel Operator. This role involves on-site support at the Navy Warfare Development Center, Norfolk Naval Station, working with the Maritime Operation Center – Exercise Support Team (MOC-EST) and Naval Surface Warfare Center – Corona (NSWC-Corona).
The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting Navy Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training across assigned Areas of Responsibility (AORs). Responsibilities include assisting with the planning, design, and execution of Operational-level Fleet Synthetic Training (FST-O) events for Fleet and task force staffs, including reserve personnel. Interaction with Military, Government, and Contractor Leadership is integral to this position.
Configure and operate the Automated Scriptor Simulator Exercise Trainer (ASSET).
Install and configure new baseline software releases, upgrades, and patches.
Provide technical support for event setup and configuration during planning and execution phases of testing and training events.
Evaluate and resolve software-related issues during events.
Submit and manage support requests to Integrated Broadcast System (IBS) and follow-up IBS/CIB for each supported event.
Configure and operate SATGEN/EVENT tools and provide feedback to the Technical Lead on equipment, software, and connectivity concerns.
Prepare to operate the National Wargaming Simulation II (NWARS II) system.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills:
U.S. Citizenship.
Active Secret Clearance (with ability to upgrade to Top Secret).
Experience with current Intelligence systems and National reporting procedures.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
Experience with modeling and simulation tools.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence), SharePoint, or similar systems.
National or Theater-level intelligence experience.
Proficiency with systems such as GALE, GCCS, IBS, DCGS, and Link 16.
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Routine travel to remote site facilities may be involved. Non-standard hours may be required approximately 6 times per year for 2-3 weeks at a time to support event execution and testing.
