Join LCMC Health, and you’ll find that our everyday makes it easy to live your extraordinary.Essential Functions: ThriveKids Student Wellness is a community-based program at Children’s Hospital New Orleans with a mission to improve healthcare and academic outcomes for students by partnering with schools to expand access to healthcare services within the classroom; services include staffing schools with healthcare professionals and providing/facilitating direct patient care services for schools. Individual will work as an Early Intervention Specialists assigned to Early Learning Centers in the New Orleans area and will focus on enhancing the development of children ages birth to 48 months with developmental delays or disabilities at their assigned centers. The Early Intervention Specialist will provide multidisciplinary child and family assessments, service coordination, family support activities and education, and child- and family-focused interventions. The Early Intervention Specialist will work to positively shape the lives of young children and mitigate risks of disability. Individual will be a full-time direct employee of Children’s Hospital New Orleans and will have a 12-month working schedule. Has the opportunity for career development at Children’s Hospital New OrleansEDUCATION QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution with a specialization in one of the following: Early Childhood Development; Early Care and Early Childhood; Early Childhood Special Education; Human Development and Family Studies. Participation in appropriate continuing education, annual education requirements, and to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job-related skills and abilities.EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS1+ years of progressivly increasing experience working with infants and toddlers in an early learning center, school, hospital, office, medical group, community agency or in-home setting. Experience in evaluating and monitoring children to determine physical and mental development, including social, motor development, self-help, cognitive and language skills. Experience interacting with parents individually or in a group setting. Ability to crouch, kneel, and/or sit on the floor for extended periods of time during service delivery appointments. Highly effective communication skills including listening, speaking, nonverbal communication, computer skills and writing skills .LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSValid Driver's License and insured automobile required ​SKILLS AND ABILITIESWe seek detail-oriented, independent self-starters who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to improving student health and raising student achievement. Must have working knowledge of federal and state laws, policies and regulations relevant to schools, Special Education law and Individual Family Servcies Plans. Must have a record of high performance in challenging situations, requiring problem solving skills and good judgement. Must have good time management, communication (oral and written), conflict management, organizational and planning skills. Ability to maintain key community partnerships through excellent people skills, demonstration of accountability, and self-awareness. Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals to obtain positive solutions. Must possess strong critical thinking skills and willingness to contribute to program development. Must demonstrate the ability to successfully deliver culturally responsive services.
