Talent Acquisition Specialist

We’re looking for a driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People & Culture team.  Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager you’ll own the full cycle recruitment process for your assigned teams and directly impact the growth of MealSuite. 

A day in the life as a Talent Acquisition Specialist:

  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment for assigned requisitions located in both Canada (provincial focus on Ontario) and USA (state focus in Texas)
  • Partner with hiring leaders to thoroughly define and understand hiring requirements, assist in the creation of job postings and interview processes, advise on Talent Acquisition, Interviewing and Selection best practices for both external and internal candidates
  • Assess candidate character and competence fit for current or future roles by screening resumes and conducting initial phone screen interviews
  • Act as the main contact for candidates, schedule interviews and coordinate all details of the interview and selection process, maintaining constant communication with candidates and hiring teams alike
  • Maintain the ATS (Workable) and track all applicable requisitions and approvals
  • Provide weekly status updates on each role’s progress and proactively address roadblocks
  • Collaborate with members of the P&C team to ensure a smooth offer process and onboarding handoff
  • Work in our office located at 5001 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy, Dallas, Texas, 1-2 days a week

  • I have knowledge of:   
    • Basic employment standard practices that impact talent acquisition and offers of employment in the US and Canada
    • Workforce structure of a start up/scale up SaaS tech company and the types of roles that exist 
    • Best practice and modern approaches to posting, sourcing, interviewing, and offering that create an exceptional candidate experience
  • I gained my knowledge through 3+ years of experience in a direct talent acquisition role with at least 2 years in the SaaS industry where I recruited and hired for a broad spectrum of roles in both Canada and across multiple states in the US.  Specifically, I have experience in hiring for Customer Experience and Revenue positions.  And Bonus points if I have technical (Software Engineering and Product) hiring experience as well. 
  • I’m a sourcing pro.  I have a pool of candidates in my funnel and when I don’t, I know how to effectively source qualified individuals through tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter or other relevant sites across North America.
  • I’m proud of how I make candidates feel unique and understand how to assess their character and competence fit and are keen to mentor hiring leaders on the secrets behind my superstar interview skills
  • I’m always looking for innovative ways to transform the work as the market adapts
  • I love technology to drive effective and efficient work habits.  I’ve worked with a variety of ATS.  I get bonus points because I’ve used Workable, but if I haven’t, then I’m confident that I’d pick up the system requirements
  • I get excited about being extremely organized and ensuring candidates and hiring leaders feel confident in my ability to keep the process moving efficiently
  • I’m willing to occasionally travel and have a valid passport and no travel restrictions that limit my ability to cross the border between Canada and the USA for team building or recruitment events.
  • I thrive in an agile environment that is constantly changing and encourages team members to collectively collaborate and communicate
  • I love to be directly involved in projects and initiatives that offer continued learning and endless opportunity to express my ideas and build my leadership skills
