We're excited to begin recruitment for the Team Lead Accounting!
The Team Lead position is part of the accounting group within Finance. This role will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and account analysis and be a vital part of our financial statement close process. You will oversee the work of staff accountants and be involved in strategic departmental decisions. In addition, you are responsible for performing accounting functions and taking part in financial operations.
Prepares monthly analysis and reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts and researches discrepancies
Coordinates and reviews staff accountants' work, ensuring timely completion of closing checklists
Assists in accounting reviews of complex estimates
Provides cross-coverage assistance in the General Accounting department by learning day-to-day functions and acting as a substitute when needed
Supports MSK finance operations through the creation of annual budgets, management reporting, handling ad hoc requests, and implementing new processes
Works closely with various departments across the organization
Assists in the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
Collaborates with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
5+ years of accounting experience
Public accounting experience is a plus
Supervisory experience is a plus
Knowledge and exposure to not-for-profit accounting and income tax law as it relates to not-for-profit organizations
Proven ability to build strong customer relationships
Project management skills
Strong product knowledge
