Digital Advertising / Performance Marketing Specialist

At Mons Royale, we believe action and adventure sports can be a force for good. But most of the gear made for these sports is trashing the planet. That’s why we’re on a mission to shift riders from synthetics to natural fibres—designing high-performance merino apparel that doesn’t mess up the places we love to play. 

We are a growing brand with big ambitions, and we are now looking for a Paid Media & Performance Marketing Specialist to take our digital advertising strategy to the next level. We work from Wanaka, NZ and would love you to be here with us, but we are open to remote applicants from within NZ for this full-time role.  You will be looking for your next big car eer opportunity within a brand, we are not looking for a freelance or agency solution. 

The kind of things you’ll be doing:  

As our Digital Advertising & Performance Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for driving paid acquisition and performance marketing strategy across Meta, Google Ads, and other digital channels. Your mission is to optimise ad performance, analyse and scale paid advertising campaigns. 

Campaign Execution & Optimization 

  • Manage and optimize paid social media (Meta) and Google Ads budgets, ensuring all campaigns hit KPIs. 
  • Create, launch, and traffic ads daily using Facebook and Instagram Ads Manager with precision. 
  • Develop testing strategies (A/B tests, audience segmentation, bidding strategies, etc.) to improve performance. 
  • Take charge of our catalogue data and optimisation and ensure that we have a well organised and optimised Google ad catalogue.  
  • Oversee and report on our SEO activities  

Reporting & Analytics 

  • Build recurring and ad-hoc reports that track performance, identify insights, and guide strategy. 
  • Regularly analyse campaign data, trends, and competitive insights to inform paid strategy. 
  • Report on specific initiatives or overall account performance to the team and leadership. 

Creative & Strategy Development 

  • Brainstorm and brief ad creatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and audience insights. 
  • Work with internal teams to translate technical data into actionable marketing strategies. 
  • Stay on top of industry trends, algorithm changes, and best practices in digital marketing. 

Market & Consumer Insights 

  • Gather data on consumer behaviour, competitor strategies, and market conditions to refine campaign strategies. 
  • Identify and explore new paid acquisition channels and opportunities to scale growth. 

Experience & Technical Expertise 

  • 3+ years experience in paid digital advertising, media buying, performance marketing, or lead generation. 
  • Proven experience managing monthly ad budgets of $10,000+. 
  • Strong knowledge of Meta Ads Manager (Blueprint certified preferred) and Google Ads (certified preferred). 
  • Understanding of performance marketing KPIs such as ROAS, CAC, CPA, Conversion Rate, AOV. 
  • Experience with Triple Whale for tracking and attribution. 
  • Comfortable working with Google Analytics, Shopify, or other eCommerce platforms. 

Additional Nice-to-Haves 

  • Experience working in eCommerce and/or outdoor, action sports, or apparel industries. 
  • Knowledge of emerging paid media trends and platforms beyond Meta & Google. 
  • Experience and understanding of SEO for eCommerce & Shopify
