SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Safety Engineer I that will be responsible for implementing Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program at a project site and ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.

The base pay range for this role is $76,800 - $96,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.

As a Safety Engineer I, your days will be filled with spirited collaboration and focused activities. You'll be responsible for implementing and managing safety programs tailored to specific projects, while also serving as a vital resource for safety-related information. Your role includes conducting safety orientations, performing audits, and assisting project management with hazard analyses. You'll play a key part in documenting safety violations and tracking safety statistics to create a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate closely with trade partners, monitor their work plans, and help manage on-site injury cases while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. Beyond just enforcing safety, you'll also help celebrate safety milestones and engage the entire team in best practices. With a blend of technical knowledge and people skills, your contributions will help redefine what is possible in construction safety with Mortenson.
