Your Career

Prisma Access™ combines the Internet connectivity/security you need - and delivers it everywhere you need it. Using cutting-edge public and private cloud technologies, it extends the next-generation security protection to all cloud services and to its customers regardless of whether they are on-premise, on remote networks or mobile users. 

One part of Prisma Access™ is our GlobalProtect team, which is responsible for securing the network traffic from Customer devices to Prisma Access™ Cloud. We are seeking an experienced Leader to lead the design, development and delivery of next-generation technologies within our GlobalProtect team. We want passionate Leaders who are hands-on, love to build great products and who bring new ideas in all facets of software development. We are looking for Leaders who take coaching and mentoring to heart and inspire their organization to scale horizontally and vertically. Collaboration and teamwork are at the foundation of our culture and we need Leaders who can communicate at a high level and work well with others inside and outside of the GlobalProtect team towards achieving a common goal for Palo Alto Networks.

We expect office-based employees to be in the office four days per week, with one day working from where they choose. We believe being together facilitates casual conversations and those magic moments where we can work on issues and ideas informally. These moments build capability and deepen trusted relationships and allow our people to feel safe in taking risks and being disruptive. Like so many companies, we are working through the details and things could change …. but in general if a role is deemed office-based we want our teams to be together four days per week.

Your Impact

  • You will be responsible for Innovation, Development and Sustenance of  GlobalProtect client product on multiple platforms
  • You will work with product management to develop and define roadmaps
  • You will apply your knowledge to review and critique system architectures and low-level designs
  • Collaborate closely with Support teams to reduce GP call-volume and instill a metrics-driven mentality in the team to reduce the time taken to resolve customer issues
  • Interact with quality assurance teams to drive high-levels of Automation in GlobalProtect software
  • You will introduce processes\discipline in the Engineering team to deliver high-quality software 
  • You will actively communicate (written and verbal) with Executive audience
  • Be a reliable mentor and coach for your organization

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in software development and 5+ years of experience Leading a team of at least 8 people or more
  • Experience delivering brand-new and inherited ‘legacy’ software to millions of end-points
  • Proficient in C\C++ programming language
  • Proficiency in systems programming on Windows or Mac, Linux is a plus
  • Knowledge of other programming languages like Swift, Objective-C, Go is a plus
  • Experience with networking domain is a plus
  • You are a team player with can-do attitude to tackle difficult problems and you inspire your team to do the same
  • You have high energy and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • You enjoy collaboration and communication with multiple teams
  • You are a fast learner and eager to absorb new emerging technologies 
  • You have a M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent military experience

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $173,400/yr to $270,500/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
