This includes the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The Director ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintains the highest standards of safety and efficiency, and leads a team of skilled professionals dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.Position Duties• Leadership & Management• Lead, mentor, and manage the Sterile Processing Department staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations across the system.• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations in compliance with all regulatory standards (e.g., AAMI, OSHA, CDC, Joint Commission, DNV and CMS).• Operations & Quality Control• Oversees the decontamination, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and medical devices, ensuring all processes meet quality standards across the system.• Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of cleanliness, functionality, and readiness of instruments and equipment.• Compliance & Safety• Ensure the department adheres to all infection control guidelines and protocols.• Maintain documentation, staff competencies and records in compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address potential compliance issues.
