Job Description: React Native Engineer Freelance

At Pulselive, we are dedicated to delivering innovative apps and websites that bring sports fans closer to the action. We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior React Native Engineer to join our front-end team to support the delivery of an exciting new project.

As a React Native Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality mobile applications for a global sports audience. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our delivery of high-quality mobile applications for a global sports audience. The candidate will architect areas of the application, using industry best practices, work with a variety of data sources and contribute to solutions that engage millions of sports fans worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a self-sufficient individual contributor to mobile applications using React Native, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions.

  • Break down work into manageable pieces, calling out blockers and dependencies and delivering solutions in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding products for sports fans.

  • Collaborate to drive the technical direction of the project, ensuring a seamless and innovative user experience.

  • Showing good attention to detail in the final product, taking care and pride in what is produced

  • Communicating clearly to ensure the best possible solutions are built

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading in delivering mobile applications using React Native and acting as a self-sufficient member of a team

  • Experience with React Native frameworks (e.g., Expo), libraries and tools

  • Strong understanding of Javascript, including ES6+ Features

  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand)

  • Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles

  • Ability to write effective and maintainable unit tests

  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills

  • Strong knowledge of mobile development best practices and the ability to implement them effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and mentor less experienced team members.

  • A passion for creating world-class digital experiences and a keen interest in sports.

  • A collaborative mindset, proven experience working within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outstanding fan experiences.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with mobile development (Kotlin/Swift)

  • Experience with CI/CD for mobile applications

  • Familiarity with native build tools (e.g. Xcode, Gradle)

  • Experience with performance optimization techniques for mobile applications.
