Our client is looking for an Interim Controller to assist on a contract basis for 3 months (with the possibility of extension). You will be reporting to the CFO, and the key responsibilities include managing the month-end close and reporting process, preparing financial analysis and account reconciliations, and preparing the monthly financial statement reporting pack. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a non-profit and managerial role, though it is not required.This position is full-time and will require you to be in the office 5 days per week (near Union Station metro).Responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations staff responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and General Accounting.• Responsible for all aspects of the month-end close process, including bank reconciliations, expense & payroll accruals, and fixed asset accounting in compliance with GAAP.• Prepare monthly financial statements on an accrual basis, consisting of the income statement, variance reports, and balance sheet.• Prepare monthly departmental income and variance statements and other financial reports as needed. Provide regular financial reports and analysis to track network trends.• Manage Treasury functions for the company, including cash and banking requirements. Monitors and manages cash ?ow to support operations and project cash flows.Requirements of the Financial Controller:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field is required.• CPA preferred.• Minimum of six years of accounting experience plus two years of supervisory experience, ideally in a non-profit background.• Strong oral and written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a big plus.• Ability to perform financial analysis with proven attention to detail.• High-integrity individual with a strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple tasks.
