Role Summary
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team to support projects across the Rowan data center project portfolio. The Electrical Engineer is a critical part of the technical team that will help support all aspects of the Rowan approach from site origination through operations.
The successful candidate will have excellent strategic thinking skills, organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This position will report to the manager of electrical engineering.
Travel: Ability to travel up to (25%) for company gatherings or to project sites
Location: Denver, CO or Kansas City, MO
Compensation: $85-$125K - Offers Bonus
Essential Responsibilities
With support from the manager of electrical engineering:
Lead, direct, and manage consultants in the design, procurement, and coordination of substation and power distribution infrastructure
Lead, direct, and manage consultants as required in other electrical studies or efforts
Lead internal and external teams to decisions and drive to outcomes
Recommend substation and electrical infrastructure design approaches for Rowan data center campuses
Partner with internal teams to establish project scope, schedule, and deliverables
Grow a working knowledge of the client specifications, basis of design, and other requirements
Nurture and create relationships with utilities and client technical experts.
Identify risks during all stages of the project lifecycle from site origination through operations
Support the site origination team through technical reviews of existing substations and electrical infrastructure associated with potential sites
Advise the development team with technical expertise from a preconstruction perspective
Integrate with the energy team to coordinate with the identified utilities. Act as the technical liaison between the consultant and the utility
Support other technical tasks not listed as required
Education, Skills, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field and at least 3 years of technical engineering experience. Data center and/or substation engineering experience preferred
Enrolled as an engineer intern or engineer in training and actively working towards professional engineering licensure. Must have the desire and ability to obtain licensure as a professional engineer
Experience supporting complex electrical projects through design, construction, commissioning, and/or operations
Knowledge of data center industry and trends preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, and highly cross-functional environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, and Blue Beam Revu
The Rowan team collaborates constantly; however, the successful candidate should be comfortable working independently
