Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Public Relations (PR) Director to guide our healthcare clients’ public relations efforts, driving brand visibility, thought leadership, and reputation management. As the PR Director, you will craft compelling narratives that position our clients as innovators in the healthcare sector, manage media relations, and develop integrated communication strategies to amplify client messages across multiple channels. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent storytelling abilities and deep industry knowledge to build trust and influence across diverse stakeholders.


You will lead and mentor a team of PR professionals, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that PR activities are fully integrated with marketing and digital initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for healthcare, a proven track record of media success, and strong leadership and communication skills.


The PR Director reports directly to the Vice President of PR and Media Relations and collaborates with account teams across the agency. Occasional travel may be required for client meetings and media events.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic PR Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies that align with clients’ business objectives and position them as thought leaders in the healthcare industry.

Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, reporters, and influencers in healthcare, technology, and business sectors to secure high-profile media placements.

Crisis Communication: Lead crisis management efforts, developing proactive communication strategies to address potential issues, and ensure consistent and transparent messaging in high-pressure situations.

Thought Leadership: Work with clients to craft thought leadership platforms through press releases, bylined articles, op-eds, case studies, and speaking engagements.

Content Creation: Develop compelling press materials, including press releases, media kits, talking points, FAQs, and executive bios, ensuring alignment with clients’ key messages and goals.

Integrated Communications: Collaborate with internal marketing, digital, and creative teams to ensure PR efforts complement broader marketing and brand initiatives, driving holistic communication campaigns.

Media Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyze media coverage, preparing reports that demonstrate the effectiveness of PR efforts, provide insights, and inform future strategies.

Client Relations: Serve as the main PR contact for key healthcare clients, offering strategic counsel on all communications-related matters and fostering strong, long-lasting relationships.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience: 6+ years of public relations experience is required.

Healthcare Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, with a proven ability to translate complex topics into compelling stories that resonate with media and stakeholders.

Media Relations Expertise: Extensive experience managing media relations and securing placements in top-tier outlets, with a strong network of media contacts.

Crisis Management Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead effective crisis communication strategies and manage reputational risks.

Exceptional Writing Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting clear, engaging, and persuasive content across various formats.
