Qualified candidates will be scheduled for interviews and required to complete a short vetting task for the role. When selected, you will be virtually onboarded and complete non-disclosure and business agreements. Invoices for payment are submitted at the beginning of each month for the previous month's work and are paid by direct deposit within 30 days.
Copy Editor - Levels I II II
• One pass to two pass (depending on level), and any corrections... to errors introduced or missed by previous editor
• Reviews content against established editorial style guidelines
• Reviews and corrects for grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and other editorial errors
• Reviews content and queries for consistency and clarity
• Reviews content against basic accessibility and equity requirements
• Cross-checks internal references and other information within same file
• Conducts simple hyperlink checks
• Reviews for simple or significant design and template errors, and queries as needed
• Discipline-specific or other speciality copyediting
Candidates will have experience with education content formatting, organization, and terminology, especially K-8. The ideal candidate will also have experience as a copy editor for educational materials.
Compensation will be based on experience starting at $35/hr.
