Structural Steel Project Manager

Lyndon Steel Company, a leading structural steel fabricator, has been meeting the needs of the industry since 1977.  We provide high quality steel at a competitive price and on-time delivery.  With over 250,000 square feet of fabrication facilities, Lyndon is capable of producing over 50,000 tons of fabricated steel per year.  With CNC automated machinery, we can support fast-track construction and deliver to customers across many industries.

Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for leading a team of professionals in completing projects by a set deadline.  Overall duties include managing subcontractors, adjusting schedules as needed, managing the budget, and maintaining relationships. 

Major Activities:

  • Liaison between our steel fabrication shop, general contractor, and on-site steel erector
  • Coordinate structural and miscellaneous steel sequencing with appropriate personnel
  • Set up and maintain delivery and installation schedule for all items within scope of work
  • Write purchase orders as needed
  • Write subcontracts to erectors
  • Manage relationships with on-site steel erector
  • Attend jobsite meetings needed
  • Work with change order department to develop change orders as needed
  • Work with the accounting department to make monthly pay applications
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractor
  • Attend weekly project management meetings
  • Update internal documents 
  • Manage the close-out process when project is complete
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

  • Will possess at least two (2) years of experience in the construction industry, specifically commercial construction and steel fabrication
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Have the ability to multi-task
  • Be able to work with all levels of the organization, including shop personnel, sales, general contractors and client representatives
  • Be able to travel to the jobsite as needed, which could include overnight travel
