As a Product Designer, you will be joining a strong team of designers entrusted with the development of a world class product. You have been in the industry for a few years and are motivated to hone your skills and master the tools of the trade to excel in your career in Design. You have a love of solving complex problems and are passionate about good design. You find delight in innovative design experiences: you stop in the street to look at exciting designs, you tell your friends about quirky new apps. Specifically, you will focus on the new Skills initiative - a core feature of the Udacity platform. The Skills initiative will require an entirely new user experience and user interface and several levels of innovation on our existing platform experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to communicate and translate in Japanese
  • Work with Product, Engineering and Marketing teams in US and Japan to improve the design of Udacity products
  • Concept, design and create great web and mobile-web experiences for external and internal audiences
  • Work on design projects from conception to production as an individual or collaboratively for larger projects
  • Utilize data and research to inform design thinking
  • Develop design solutions consistent with brand standards and style guides
  • Contribute to the evolution of Udacity Design culture
  • Communicate effectively through writing, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
  • Multi-task and prioritize activities for quick execution of critical path work items

  • Obsessive attention to detail and a walking encyclopedia of micro-interactions in use (on web, desktop, mobile)
  • Experience with digital design applications such as Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, Invision, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Keynote
  • Knowledge of modern (responsive design) web standards
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc. is a plus
  • Experience working with remote teams and cross-functional stakeholders is a plus

Location:

While this is a remote role, applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States of America on a full-time basis.

Compensation:

The maximum base pay for this position is $125-140K, depending on experience and location.
