Inventory Control Technician I

The Inventory Technician I's primary responsibilities are to manage specific medical supply inventory levels throughout the Fred Hutch clinic.

 

Please note that this shift is 12:00-8:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Uses an automated inventory control and par leveling system for the ordering, stocking/restocking of medical supplies under the scope of the supply chain management.  
  • Restocks supplies daily and rotates inventory supporting accurate inventory levels, generating requisitions as needed. 
  • Distributes medical supplies to patient care areas, while monitoring par levels for specific products to assure that appropriate levels are established in order not to affect patient care. 
  • Identifies opportunities through the manipulation of par levels, address slow moving inventory by removing product or increasing par levels to meet departmental demand 
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly stock locations and labeling of products. 
  • Acts as liaison between clinical staff and supply chain management as needed. 
  • Works with and follows instructions of the GMP Specialist in the event of recalls to pull relevant products.  
  • Perform monthly Expired Lot audit.
  • Communicate inventory shortages to Stores Lead or Purchasing. 
  • Trains new workers in area operations. 
  • Provide vacation and sick call coverage for Inventory Techs. 

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year supply chain related experience or other relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of computerized or automated systems operations .
  • Knowledge of record keeping practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of units of measure.
  • Knowledge of safety practice.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and objects > 50 lbs. using proper technique. 
  • Must be able to push/pull cart with 400 lbs. load.

Preferred:

  • Pharmacy Assistance License.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
