Supervisor Pharmacy Inpatient Operations

Overview

Located in the Phoenix Ariz. suburb of Gilbert the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is a 198-bed not-for profit hospital with more than 1300 employees and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. In 2014 Phoenix Children’s Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 and has been a vital part of the growing community. Today it is the fifth largest employer in Gilbert. During the fiscal year ending June 30 2016 Mercy Gilbert provided more than $24 million in community benefit. As a result of Dignity Health’s mission to deliver health care and partner with the community more than 42000 people in the East Valley were reached through community health services. Responsibilities

Responsible for the general supervision of the delivery and documentation of pharmaceutical care provided to patients using the medication use process (selecting prescribing dispensing administration and monitoring of medications).

Responsible for day-to-day management of pharmacy staff including scheduling annual evaluations orientation counseling interviewing candidates approval of time cards hiring and discipline of employees.

Provide input on budgetary considerations for their section at budget time. Monitors the income & expenses to compare with the budget as documented by monthly reports.

Provide input to the pharmacy leadership team on departmental operational financial and human resources issues and initiatives.

Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. This program provides debt relief and student loan assistance to help you achieve your goals. Full-time employees can receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can receive up to $9,000. Advanced Practice Providers and Faculty Physicians can receive up to $90,000 if full-time and hired within a year of completing their residency or fellowship. Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy is required. Advanced or Masters degree preferred (e.g. Pharm.D.) .
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Pharmacist in an acute care setting and/or completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program.

Licensure:

  • Registered Pharmacist license. Oversight for an acute care facility requires licensure in the state in which you practice.
