Our Product team at UpGuard comprises of our Product Management, Product Support, Engineering, Design, Data Leaks Detection, and Third Party Risk Management Services. Our Product team’s vision is to become the leader in the Cyber VRM category by providing a best-in-class SaaS platform for organizations to manage their third-party risk and external attack surface. Our purpose as a Product team is simply to build a product that enables this. We aim to build a product that users love and come to rely on, and one that regularly and consistently improves.


Where does this role fit in?

We're looking for an experienced VP of Engineering to grow our engineering team and mature our engineering practices in preparation for the next ambitious stage of our company’s growth.


Reporting to the Chief Product Officer (CPO), the VP Engineering owns the strategic direction, execution, and performance of the engineering organization. They ensure scalable, reliable, and secure technology delivery aligned with product vision and business growth objectives. Ultimately, they are held accountable for delivering massive, sustainable business value in collaboration with their cross-functional product peers.


Key Areas of Ownership:
  • Technical Strategy & Execution: Set and execute a scalable engineering strategy, aligning technical roadmaps with product vision and business goals.
  • Engineering Leadership & Culture: Build and maintain high-performing engineering teams, emphasizing accountability, innovation, and value delivery—all in alignment with UpGuard's unique culture.
  • Platform Scalability & Reliability: Ensure technology platforms scale sustainably, reliably, and securely to meet current and future business needs.
  • Organizational Efficiency: Optimize engineering processes, structures, and resource allocation to support a scaling team and align with company strategy and product priorities.
  • Cross-functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment, unified execution, and customer-centric delivery.
  • Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding: Own hiring strategy, attract high-caliber engineering talent, and cultivate a compelling employer brand to support organizational growth.
  • Organizational Adaptation: Continuously evolve the engineering organization structure and processes to effectively manage increased scale and complexity.
