ABOUT THIS POSITION

Aceable is looking for a UX and Product Designer to support one of our empowered product teams. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to design experiences that are engaging, accessible, and user-centered. While team focus may shift, the key is adaptability—this role requires a designer who can concept, validate, and iterate on product solutions while balancing business goals and user needs.

This role will require leading brainstorming sessions with stakeholders, creating user journeys and storyboards, and designing intuitive, high-quality experiences from wireframes to high-fidelity designs in Figma. You must be comfortable working within the limitations of a design system while still advocating for innovation and improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead design brainstorming sessions with stakeholders, product managers, and engineers to generate ideas and solutions to problems.
  • Create user journeys, wireframes, and storyboards to communicate design concepts and user flows.
  • Design both low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma, ensuring usability, accessibility, and scalability.
  • Work within the constraints of a design system while identifying opportunities for refinement and enhancement.
  • Collaborate in real-time with product managers, engineers, and researchers to define and iterate on features.
  • Conduct or support user research, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing, to validate product solutions.
  • Ensure accessibility compliance by designing experiences that align with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Document and communicate design decisions effectively through written, verbal, or visual formats to cross-functional teams.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 5+ years of experience in UX and product design, preferably in a cross-functional product team.
  • Expertise in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design, with experience creating user journeys, storyboards, and both low- and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers while effectively articulating and documenting design decisions.
  • Experience designing for web and mobile applications, including knowledge of iOS and Android design patterns.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring experiences meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Ability to conduct user research independently or in collaboration with researchers, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
  • Experience working within a design system, ensuring consistency while identifying opportunities for refinement and enhancement.
  • Reside in one of the following locations: California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York (excluding Boroughs), North Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Washington.

 BONUS POINTS

  • Experience designing for iOS and Android apps.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of front-end development.
  • Passion for education technology and helping people reach their life goals.
