Senior Developer- Westwood Insurance

As a full-service agency, we can help customers find the right coverage for their circumstances from a wide variety of insurance products, including homeowners and renters policies, auto insurance, specialty item and special event endorsements, small business insurance, umbrella policies, and much more.

Summary:

Design and deliver for technical solutions for complex business requirements with a focus on Microsoft .Net technologies and C# programming, along with ASP.Net MVC, React or Angular for front-end development. Analyze and consult with key stakeholders on business needs, define and write specifications for particular components of specialized projects, conduct unit testing, and troubleshoot errors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design effective .Net applications for business use by utilizing subject matter expertise in Microsoft technologies, analyzing business requirements, and recommending the best solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Support project efficiency by collaborating with business system analysts, business unit teams, and project managers to set appropriate schedules, tasks, and quality guidelines for .Net application development projects.
  • Mentor the team in building .Net applications by assisting with estimation of resources required for assigned components, supporting the accurate translation of specifications into C# programming language, forecasting solutions to anticipated problems, and resolving basic escalated issues.
  • Facilitate the development of accurate .Net applications by coordinating testing of functionality, analyzing complex sample data-sets to ensure accuracy of program output, identifying and escalating issues, and supporting the achievement of quality assurance.
  • Assist junior .Net developers by reviewing application design and code, clarifying issues to troubleshoot errors and gaps, refining processes and technical standards, and ensuring the continual effectiveness of team deliverables.
  • Deliver accurate record-keeping by writing detailed documentation for the operation of complex .Net programs to facilitate user understanding of application functioning.
  • Liaise with vendors by communicating application enhancement needs and informing on operational issues to ensure deliverables work effectively and align with changing organizational requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value “can do” people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun

Hybrid Schedule: 2-3 days working in our office.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience

Preferred Competencies/Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft .Net technologies, including C#, .Net Framework, .Net Core, ASP.Net MVC, and Entity Framework.
  • Practical experience with React, Angular, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Solid working knowledge of SQL Database platform.
  • Design, develop, and maintain highly secure, stable, scalable, and efficient APIs using .NET technologies. Demonstrate proficiency in API management, including API lifecycle management, security, and performance tuning, utilizing Azure API Gateway
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps platform.
  • Familiarity with n-tier architecture.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodology.
  • Basic understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Proven ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and adapt plans, goals, actions, or priorities to meet changing situations.
  • Capacity to act promptly and adapt in a complex, evolving environment.
  • Eagerness to engage in continuous learning related to the job and stay updated with new and emerging technology related to area of responsibility.

Starting pay: $120,000 to $130,000.
