What You Will Do:
  • Lead the Data Strategy at Beam: Define and execute a comprehensive, forward-thinking data strategy that aligns with the company’s vision, growth objectives, and customer needs. Drive innovation in data science, advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI, positioning Beam as an industry leader in data-driven decision-making.
  • Scale the Analytics Organization:Build and manage a high-performing, cross-functional team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers. Lead the team through the scale-up phase, empowering them to deliver high-impact, actionable insights that support key strategic initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Data Enablement:Work closely with the executive team, product leaders, and other departments to create an integrated data and analytics ecosystem that enables Beam to build smarter, more efficient processes, optimize customer engagement, and fuel growth. Guide executive stakeholders in leveraging data for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop & Oversee Data Infrastructure:Spearhead the development of Beam’s data architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and accessibility of data across the organization. Oversee the integration of multiple data sources, systems, and tools to create a unified, comprehensive data ecosystem that supports business needs.
  • Strategic Leadership and Innovation: Drive data initiatives and analytics capabilities that unlock business value, from predictive analytics to market insights. Innovate to stay ahead of industry trends in data science, ensuring Beam leverages cutting-edge technologies to achieve competitive advantage.
  • Optimize Measurement Frameworks: Establish clear measurement frameworks that align with Beam’s user journey and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring continuous monitoring, optimization, and actionable insights to inform business strategy.
  • Data-Driven Culture: Champion a data-driven culture at all levels of Beam, fostering data literacy across the organization and ensuring that data and analytics inform every strategic decision. Promote data-driven innovation and make data insights accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Executives: Work closely with executive management to refine business strategies, utilizing data to drive key business decisions. Contribute to the company’s strategic vision and guide long-term planning, ensuring alignment between data initiatives and Beam’s growth trajectory.


What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:
  • Advanced Educational Background:A postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, computer science, statistics, or a related discipline. Advanced expertise in data science and analytics is essential to providing leadership at this level.
  • Insurance Industry Expertise and Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance industry concepts, including risk assessment, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with financial reporting, accounting principles, and actuarial analysis is highly desirable. Ability to leverage data-driven insights to optimize financial decision-making and compliance within an insurance framework.
  • Proven Leadership in High-Growth Companies: At least 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field, with a strong track record of building and scaling data functions in high-growth companies. Extensive experience managing teams across multiple domains (data engineering, data science, business intelligence).
  • Strategic Vision for Data:Strong strategic and business acumen, with the ability to align data strategy with company-wide goals. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and scale data strategies that drive tangible business outcomes.
  • Hands-On Expertise: Advanced proficiency in data tools and technologies such as Python, SQL, machine learning frameworks, data warehouses, and BI tools. Experience with on-premise and SaaS transactional systems is essential, and experience leading corporate data platform projects is a must.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Exceptional ability to collaborate with C-suite executives, product leaders, and cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
  • Experience with Open-Source and SaaS Tools: Deep familiarity with open-source data tools, advanced analytics, and cloud-based platforms. Experience working with a diverse tech stack and managing both traditional and modern data tools.
  • Change Management and Scalability: Proven experience in scaling a data function, managing change, and navigating a rapidly evolving technology landscape. Ability to lead through ambiguity and drive innovation while ensuring stability in operational processes.
  • Global Team Leadership: Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones and cultures, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance in remote and hybrid environments


$182,800 - $292,400 a year

Compensation and Benefits:

Beam offers a competitive base salary paired with an attractive variable compensation structure.

Employees benefit from performance-based bonuses and incentives, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance. Additionally, Beam provides a 401(k) plan with company matching, flexible time off, and the opportunity to participate in the equity program.


The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
