Job description:
In this role you will work within the Aero Development Team, employing cutting-edge techniques to deliver aerodynamic performance to the race car. This will involve analysing computational and wind tunnel data and fostering innovation throughout the design and development process. Team members are encouraged to challenge established thinking and share their ideas to create an environment where everyone can contribute to our shared success.

What you will be doing:

  • Deliver aerodynamic performance to the race car, by analysing CFD and wind tunnel data as well as innovating throughout the design and development process.
  • Build an understanding of the aerodynamic structures and behaviors around the race car.
  • Work with management groups to construct a mutually agreed and communicated aerodynamic development plan.
  • Suggest, investigate and, where applicable, implement new methods and processes to improve efficiency of aerodynamic ideas generation, design, testing, analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to collaborative discussions and efforts to improve whole-car performance, offering ideas and taking on board feedback from others.
  • Communicate key findings, opportunities and threats to the Lead Engineer.
  • Occasional travel may be required as part of this role.
  • A degree in a relevant discipline (Aerodynamics/Aeronautics) or similar.
  • Multiple years’ relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Formula One® Technical Regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of CFD methods and analysis of CFD data.
  • Experience in leading, managing and directly contributing to aerodynamic development.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and managing aerodynamic development projects against pre-agreed targets.
  • Well versed with 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA).
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
  • Ability to line manage / lead teams effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.
  • Clear and concise communication.
  • Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
