Meet the Team
We are the Export team, part of the Editing Platform group, and we manage one of Canva’s most frequently utilized processes—enabling users to download their designs effortlessly. Each week, over 50 million unique users download their creations, highlighting the importance of our role in Canva’s overall success. Our focus lies in enhancing the reliability, speed, and versatility of exports, ensuring that users can share their work confidently in any required format. By optimizing performance and developing smarter download features, we tackle complex challenges that significantly affect user satisfaction and retention. Our mission is to make exporting seamless, allowing individuals, teams, and businesses to realize their ideas and make them a reality.

As a Frontend Software Engineer on the Export team, you will play a key role in shaping the technology behind one of Canva's most essential user journeys.   • Craft Seamless UI Experiences – Design and implement intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that make exporting designs effortless, ensuring users can access the features they need with ease.

  • Optimize Performance at Scale – Tackle the challenge of high-speed, high-reliability exports, ensuring millions of users can download their designs quickly and efficiently.

  • Collaborate Across Teams – Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build cohesive, impactful solutions that enhance the end-to-end user experience.

  • Innovate with New Features – Brainstorm, prototype, and develop new export features that offer users greater flexibility and control, helping make design more accessible to everyone.

  • Champion System Reliability – Proactively monitor and maintain the stability and performance of the export system, resolving issues swiftly to provide a frictionless experience.

  • Put Users First – Partner with the User Voice team to gather insights and feedback, ensuring every export enhancement directly improves the experience for Canva’s diverse global audience.

  • Stay Ahead of the Curve – Keep up with the latest frontend technologies and best practices, continuously improving your skills and contributing to Canva’s mission of pushing the boundaries of frontend development.
