CGI Federal is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Data Architect to support a large federal client. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing database solutions to ensure data integrity, consistency, and performance.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Database Design and Development:
Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and other database objects.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Create and maintain documentation of database structures and processes.
Data Management and Integration:
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across all database systems.
Integrate data from various sources, including external databases and APIs.
Implement data migration and data warehousing solutions as needed.
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
Monitor and optimize database performance, including query performance tuning and index optimization.
Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and provide recommendations for improvements.
Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with data analysts, IT staff, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide database solutions.
Provide technical support for database-related issues and assist with user training on database functionalities.
7+ years of progressive experience in the area of database management.
Critical understanding of data warehousing and relational database concepts.
Experience with Oracle Golden Gate, SAP BusinessObjects 4.2, and Microsoft PowerBI.
Bachelors Degree in a relevant field.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
Experience with Red Hat Linux and Oracle 11G database.
Experience implementing mobile components.
Experience with Microsoft Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
Experience supporting multiple new product and enhancement releases.
Relevant certification is preferred.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800.00 - $209,100.00.
