Our primary product, the CROVER Grain Storage Management system, helps grain storage operators detect critical issues such as hotspots early on, ensuring the quality of cereal grains and oilseeds like corn, soybeans, wheat, and barley in bulk storage. #SavingGrains

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly-skilled Lead Grain Sensing Engineer to lead the development and integration of industrial-grade sensors used in the CROVER robots.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead Sensor Development: Oversee the design, development, and integration of industrial-grade sensors for CROVER robots ensuring that they meeting user, industrial and compliance requirements, including among others meeting required accuracy and response time specifications.

  • Sensing Accuracy and Response Time: Develop and implement sensors that meet required accuracy and response time targets close or better than the current state of the art for measuring grain conditions across a wide variety of grain types.

  • System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of sensors with existing robotic systems, focusing on performance and reliability.

  • Lead sensor development projects from concept to deployment, including timelines, resources, and budgets.

  • Testing and Validation: Develop and implement testing protocols to validate sensor performance under various conditions.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze sensor data to improve accuracy, reliability, and overall system performance.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure cohesive product development.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of sensor designs, test results, and integration processes.

  • Act as the subject matter expert within the team around on topics related to grain sensing.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in sensor technology and incorporate them into CROVER’s products.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sensor development and integration, with a focus on industrial applications for sensing grain conditions, including moisture, CO2, temperature and more relevant grain parameters.

  • Proven track record of leading grain sensor development projects from concept to deployment.

  • Proficiency in sensor technologies, temperature, humidity and CO2 sensing, magnetic, IMUs, encoders, displacement sensors, and other state-of-the-art sensing technologies.

  • Strong understanding of physics-based simulation techniques and data analysis tools.

  • Experience with system-level electrical architecture and design.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues

  • Strong English written and verbal communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Experience working with international teams and in global markets

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements

  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn new skills and take on diverse tasks, fostering both personal and company growth
