Mobile Software Engineer - iOS

About Drivemode:

Drivemode is a California-based division of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. We are a small, passionate team of software product innovators helping Honda Automotive be competitive in the Electric Vehicle market. We build application experiences for mobile devices. Are you passionate about creating next-gen delightful digital experiences for automotive? Maybe you have worked at some notable EV companies in this capacity? Would you like to work on new products and product categories at Honda and help Honda invent the future of automotive? Then we would like to hear from you! 


You’ll contribute hands-on to the development of a companion app for the new generation of electric vehicles for the Honda and Acura brands. Applications you develop will target Android, iOS, web, and IVI (Android Automotive OS) systems and will communicate with modules of the car through various protocols over the network and Bluetooth.


We’re looking for someone who has a strong sense of ownership of product features and quality, is enthusiastic about trying new technologies, and does not hesitate to do whatever it takes to get things done, even if outside your usual responsibility area.


Responsibilities:
  • Mobile App development for automotive together with other engineers, PMs, designers, teams and partners
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices and coding standards
  • Work with the team to troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues
  • Support engineering development lifecycle processes in a highly regulated and safety-oriented industry
  • Work with Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, and SwiftUI using reactive and streaming architectures


Minimum qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Familiarity with iOS app development frameworks and libraries
  • Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git with GitHub
  • Good team player with a positive attitude who is committed to continuously improving the team, the product, and the company
  • A passion for exploring and adopting new technologies and mobile development best practices
  • Experience with SwiftUI


Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with reactive/streaming architectures
  • Experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose


$102,000 - $169,000 a year
This is the position's total compensation package including the company's bonus structure. This position also comes with full benefits. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
