STAFF ASSISTANT

Staff Assistant

Department of Head & Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences

  

OVERVIEW:

Coordinate program outreach, oversee scholar onboarding, manage program activities and social media presence, and serve as the primary contact for applicants and scholars.

 

Work Performed

Coordinate program outreach with Bennett College in Greensboro and Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh.

Onboarding of scholars accepted into the BAA-POCS program.

Assist with planning and overseeing BAA-POCS program activities with participating scholars.

Plan, coordinate and administer activities involving BAA-POCS program social media presence.

Primary program contact with applicants and scholars.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AT THIS LEVEL:

 

Education/Training: Work requires a broad knowledge of clerical and accounting principles and practices normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in administrative support or a related business field.

Experience: Work generally requires three years of related secretarial/clerical experience to acquire skills necessary to administer complex office functions related to office management, communications, and budgetary/accounting activities. OR and equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Experience- 6 years of experience in student or resident services, and academic event planning.

Anticipated Pay Range:

 

 

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for thisposition as USD $ 18.55 to USD $27.54. Duke University considersfactors such as (but not l imited to) scope and responsibilities of theposition; candidate's work e xperience, education/training, and keyskills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
