Location: London (hybrid working arrangements) with travel to our Bristol project office and periodic travel to Europe.
Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.
Salary: £42,000 –£52,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We are recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to support this unique project, as we enter critical phases across key delivery programmes in one of the following areas:
Nuclear Island (NI): is the heart of a nuclear power plant, housing critical components like the reactor, steam generators, and containment structure. It is responsible for generating heat through nuclear fission and ensuring safety with robust systems and controls. The NI works alongside the Conventional Island, which converts steam into electricity, forming the core of the plant’s operations.
MEH: primarily the development and setup of the MEH delivery model and alliance for SZC. A joint team has been established and they will continue to develop and detail the MEH delivery model and alliance, and work in accordance with lessons learned from the HPC programme.
Responsibilities
As our Assistant Project Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting our Project Managers to deliver critical systems, structures, and components within a nuclear power plant programme. You'll gain hands-on experience working on high-impact projects, ensuring the successful execution of key contracts while developing your skills in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.
Who you are
We're looking for Assistant Project Managers to support project delivery in technically complex and fast-paced environments, where safety, security, and environmental responsibility are paramount. Ideally, you’ll bring experience from the nuclear energy sector or another similarly regulated industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: with the ability to work across multiple project stakeholder groups and individuals.
Attention to detail: ensure accuracy of data / information collection and reporting.
Teamwork: collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Adaptability: work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
