Our client seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager at Newnan, GA. This position will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide key financial insights to drive the success of our operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and has a strong understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing financial operations.Key Responsibilities:• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.• Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.• Manage the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support decision-making processes.• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations.• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.• Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure proper liquidity for operational needs.• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring accurate and timely work.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and operations, to provide cost analyses and support strategic initiatives.• Assist with audits by providing information and responding to inquiries from external auditors.Qualifications:• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).Experience:• Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.• Proven experience in managing an accounting team.Technical Skills:• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with industry-specific systems is a plus).• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Soft Skills:• Strong leadership and team management abilities.• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.• High attention to detail and accuracy.• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with cost accounting and inventory management.• Familiarity with tax reporting and compliance for manufacturing entities.
