We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to serve as a technical subject matter expert for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This role is pivotal in driving growth across both B2B and B2C marketing automations. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of data architecture, integration patterns, and the cross-cloud Salesforce ecosystem. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing complex email campaigns, delivering technical solutions, and optimizing Marketing Cloud capabilities to enhance personalization and engagement. This role requires extensive experience in data architecture, integrations, and deep expertise with the Marketing Cloud platform, operating within a multi-channel, cross-cloud Salesforce environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Email Campaign Execution and Optimization: Lead the execution and refinement of technical requirements or list selection criteria for email campaigns using SQL or data segmentation techniques.
Database and Architecture Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the database architecture and data available within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance, ensuring data integrity and optimized campaign performance.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance on Marketing Cloud best practices, educating internal teams on new tool features, upgrades, and enhancements to maximize platform capabilities.
Journey Setup and Testing: Lead the execution of email campaigns and journey setups, ensuring seamless integration with customer journeys. This includes creating user stories, test cases, and overseeing end-to-end testing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Document and deliver detailed technical specifications and solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of marketing initiatives.
Platform Customization: Leverage out-of-the-box Marketing Cloud functionalities and tailor them to meet specific project requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimizing user experience.
Proactive Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues or obstacles within marketing automation workflows, proactively recommending and implementing effective solutions.
Campaign Creation Support: Assist in the creation of new marketing campaigns, including data configuration, audience segmentation, and overall platform utilization, ensuring the Marketing Cloud platform is fully optimized.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant work experience in marketing automation, data engineering, or a related domain.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator certification.
Extensive experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, including all Studios and Builders (Email Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, etc.).
Proven experience in implementing and supporting full lifecycle Marketing Cloud projects from design through deployment.
Strong proficiency in SQL, SSJS, HTML/CSS, and AMPscript.
In-depth knowledge of various integration patterns, including API, Batch, and Event-driven integration for Marketing Cloud.
Expertise in integrating external systems, third-party platforms, and cross-cloud connectors such as Marketing Cloud Connect.
Preferred Qualifications:
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer certification(s).
Advanced understanding of content personalization and dynamic techniques for omni-channel marketing activation.
Solid understanding of relational databases, data governance, and best practices in data management and privacy compliance.
Familiarity with industry-leading marketing tools and integration strategies across various platforms, with a focus on scalability and automation.
