Full Stack Software Engineer

Drug discovery is a design problem. Chemists spend hours each week combining experimental data with their own intuition to design molecules that they believe will be potent against a biological target, absorb well into the body, and be non-toxic. This effort takes years to succeed and costs millions of dollars – all while patients’ needs for new therapeutics go unmet.

At Inductive Bio, our goal is to build software that can dramatically improve how molecules are designed. To do so, we are building a Figma-like platform, backed by scalable infrastructure and  state-of-the-art AI, that allows the best drug discovery teams in the world to collaborate effectively on this challenging design problem. Our platform is already being used on more than 30 active small drug discovery programs, and adoption is rapidly growing. We are backed by leading investors at the intersection of technology and biotechnology, and we are advised by world-class drug discovery experts.

We are seeking a full-stack software engineer to join our talented, ambitious, and kind team. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute across our stack, from scaling our backend serving and MLOps infrastructure to deploying new features directly into our molecule design UI. You’ll wear many hats and have the opportunity to work directly with chemists, ML Engineers, and our users. As an early engineer at a rapidly-growing startup, you’ll have the opportunity for high impact while learning and growing with the company.

What you’ll do:

  • Build responsive and user-friendly software that empower scientists and researchers in their drug discovery efforts.

  • Develop both frontend and backend components of our platform.

  • Design and improve infrastructure for model management and low-latency inference, including security features, CI/CD, and system orchestration.

  • Work closely with ML engineers to integrate machine learning models and algorithms into our platform. Ensure that the models can be trained, deployed, and served in a scalable way.

  • Interact directly with our scientific customers to design improvements to the platform.

  • Help make business and product decisions that will shape the future of the company.

Who you are:

  • 4+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer

  • Proficiency in modern frontend and backend technologies

  • Experience operating, monitoring, and deploying systems using cloud infrastructure

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

  • Interest in diving deep into the science of a drug discovery and the business of a growing startup
