Position Summary:

As a Manufacturing Soldering Specialist you will be responsible for a variety of assembly operations tasks-assembling precision electro-optical semiconductor components, welding, and soldering under levels of optical magnification. Additionally, you will be responsible for following standard practices and procedures to operate leaded equipment.

L3Harris Space & Sensors Division, headquartered in Mason, Ohio, designs, develops, and manufactures complex systems (electronic, avionics, transceivers, transmitters, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical) for the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets. L3Harris is a recognized leader in Electro-Optical technologies that enable systems to support surveillance, reconnaissance, threat detection, and self-protection missions. Our world-class Space Avionics systems include equipment for Mars Rover/Landers/Orbiters, Launch Vehicles, and Imaging Satellite Communications.

We offer an alternative 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, and the opportunity to work with a talented and diverse group of professionals. Mason, OH is located in Warren County, “Ohio’s Largest Playground.” Major attractions are right around the corner, including Great Wolf Lodge and Kings Island Amusement Park. Our site is 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, where there are multiple attractions including The Newport Aquarium and The Cincinnati Zoo. Cincinnati is also the home AFC Champions the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Cyclones and FC Cincinnati of Major League Soccer.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned solder processes as required (ie. Soldering components, configuring cabling, and configuring wires).
  • Support group objectives for on-time delivery.
  • Assemble mechanical and/or electrical components for customer deliverables.
  • Verify use of most updated procedures.
  • Follow industry standard or practice for 6S.
  • Perform torque training, inspection of hardware, and mechanical assembly.
  • Crimping cables with a wide range of tools (ex. Hand crimping tools).
  • Assist is guiding peers in completing daily tasks.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • 2 years experience with soldering.
  • Must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged standing.
  • Must be able to move from lab to lab and inside the lab that you are located in.
  • 2 years or more experience in effective communication.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2 years or more experience in proficient computer skills, including ability to navigate email and Microsoft office.
  • 2 years or more experience in reading and following drawings and work instructions.
  • 2 years or more experience with the use of basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, plyers, wire strippers, etc.
  • 2 years or more experience in using a microscope for long periods of time.
  • 2 years or more experience in effective communication.
