Position Summary

The Patient Transporter is an incredible opportunity for those looking to expand their role in health care and service to others. This dynamic position provides professional and exceptional care through safe and timely transport of patients, supplies, oxygen, beds and equipment throughout the MultiCare facility.

As a Transporter at MultiCare, you will collaborate with the entire nursing staff, hone your decision-making capacities, and enjoy daily variety and problem-solving opportunities.

Responsibilities

·       You will provide safe and timely transport of patients, beds, oxygen, supplies, and equipment throughout the facility

·       Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and/or from beds or chairs to and/or from wheelchair or stretcher

·       You will respond to STAR codes by transporting patient lift equipment and assisting nursing staff, as needed

·       You will provide assistance to units by cleaning equipment and stocking supplies

·       Partner with a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and solid decision-making capacities

·       You will effectively prioritize and apply organization and flexibility to your work duties

Requirements

·       High school graduate or equivalent preferred

·       Current BLS Certification

·       Successful completion of in-house training program on patient lift and mobility within 6 months of placement in job

·       One (1) year of previous transport or related healthcare experience preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.34 - $27.28 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
