Planner

This position will be responsible for planning, updating and monitoring of manufacturing schedules, establishing delivery dates and coordinating manufacturing activity to support the master schedule and material requirements. § Schedule and monitor production input and output. § Estimate production time for each order giving consideration to availability of machines, material, number of operations involved, manufacturing backlog, order quantity, complexity of product (i.e. assemblies), outside operations, previous history, etc.§ Assist Purchasing to establish supply schedules with key suppliers§ Examine the status of each order and work-in-process, open orders, material status, material past-dues, etc. Review work-in-process for potential short yields, order closing, abnormal delays, and progress, and advise department supervisors.§ Work to maintain minimum inventory levels (materials and WIP) while meeting customer requirements.§ Assist in development of new or improved manufacturing and production control systems.§ Assertive, high profile, communicative individual.§ Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to implement systems and communicate effectively.§ Must be able to identify problems in supporting customer requirements and coordinate efforts of manufacturing and support groups to prevent and/or resolve issues.1. 5+ years in Planning or Production Control2. Independent worker, creative thinker and problem solver very resourceful with strong organization abilities.3. Strong communication skills, verbal and written.4. Computer skills – use of Microsoft Word and Excel.5. Working knowledge of MRP and Bills of Material especially Sage MAS 1006. BS in related discipline a plusWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
