About the Position:
In your role as a Heavy-Duty Machinery Mechanic, you will perform repairs and maintenance on Industrial vehicles and heavy machinery including, but not limited to: vehicle r bodies and control systems, air brake systems, suspension, steering, hydraulics, electrical, general engine work, HVAC components, drivetrain, and chassis components.

Position: Maintenance Technician
 
Pay: $30 - $32 per hour plus union fringes. 
Total hourly package $48 - $52
 
Location: Dearborn, MI 
 
Responsibilities:  
Duties include but are not limited to:

 
  • Keeps up on maintenance of vehicles and equipment 
  • Performs engine repair and maintenance 
  • Performs welding and fabrication 
  • Scans trucks and troubleshoots mechanical issues using electronic tools 
  • Performs electrical repairs 
  • Assists with DOT inspections 
  • Completes oil changes and greasing trucks/equipment 
  • Repairs tires, including replacement when necessary 
  • Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles to enable minimal downtime 
  • Safely executes road service calls when necessary to ensure the equipment is being returned in a safe manner 
  • Troubleshoots emissions issues 
  • Actively solves problem 
  • Executes work orders and turns into Maintenance Supervisor for company records 
 
Requirements:
  • Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required 
  • Understands work orders and labor time standards 
  • Experience with maintenance to be performed on refuse trucks and heavy machinery 
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certifications are a plus but not required 
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a heavy-duty technician 
  • Must be able to perform basic inspections of the following: brakes, drivetrain, emissions, hydraulics, emissions, transmissions, general engine, steering and suspension
