At NIQ, we deliver the most complete and clear understanding of consumer buying behavior that reveals new pathways to growth. We are looking to hire a Pet Thought Leader who will be a public representative of NIQ's point of view and capabilities in the Pet Industry.

Remote based role based in the US. Candidates must be physically located within the US.

Job Description

As the Pet Thought Leader at NIQ, you will be responsible for establishing NIQ’s credibility, positioning, and engagement across Pet-related CPG manufacturers and retailers. 

  • Create steady cadence of actionable, forward-looking thought leadership supported by analysis leveraging NIQ’s suite of data solutions and a deep understanding of market dynamics.
  • Promoting NIQ solutions and capabilities through industry presentations at conferences to cultivate new leads and opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales Leaders to enable them to achieve sales goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing on Pet-related demand generation campaigns.
  • Create and maintain a network of interested NIQ associates in Pet categories to create additional advocacy and industry participation.
  • Participate in client meetings to provide industry perspective and help identify growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong network of C-suite industry stakeholders.  Lead discussions with a wide range of decision influencers and budget owners.
  • Assist in business development efforts across manufacturers and retailers.
  • Provide input to Pet-related product development around product attribution, reporting, insights, and analytics / innovation.
  • Gain familiarity with the NIQ solution portfolio.

About You 

You are a practitioner in the Pet industry with knowledge and connections among retailers and brands. You confidently speak to the industry issues, consumer and lifestyle trends, and the needs of Pet industry players. You enjoy presenting and are energized when engaging large and senior level audiences. Your communication skills are top notch!  You are able to interweave strategic points, engaging stories, and key data points to craft a compelling storyline. You are comfortable utilizing insights and analytics and view them as a key component of product development, brand management, marketing and merchandising.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in the Pet retail industry with a preference for CPG and/or retailer leadership experience. Additional Pet Health experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with complex client relationships. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the power in data analytics to drive brand building, marketing, retail merchandising and innovation.
  • Proven track record of building senior client engagement and impact.
  • 25% domestic travel is expected. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
  • Prior experience with NIQ solutions and/or other syndicated data provider preferred.

Additional Information

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation of the following range: $140,000-$170,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a sales-based incentive or performance-based bonus.
