Digital Content Specialist

As a Digital Content Specialist at Okta, you will produce and manage a library of digital assets to enable customers, partners, and employees to self-serve support related issues. We are looking for an experienced Digital Content Specialist to create, edit, distribute, and manage digital media assets across various platforms. You will be part of our Knowledge and Online Experience team whose mission is to help Okta scale through capturing, maintaining and sharing knowledge.

Our team is collaborative and agile. To be successful in this position, you will be flexible and ready to take on tasks to continuously evolve our processes for improvement. Proven success in consistently delivering creative multimedia assets for technical audiences on time is critical. 

What you’ll be doing 

Contribute to the growth of Okta’s support library by recording, editing, and distributing high-quality digital media content that meets the product roadmap deadlines and stakeholder requirements.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather input and feedback to create effective content on Okta products and services.
  • Create and/or edit support content, including relevant audio, video, interactive, and written text content elements.
  • Enhance existing customer support content assets created by other team members through visual elements, and video components.
  • QA assets to ensure that it meets Okta’s quality standards, brand guidelines, and leverages industry best practices for accessibility.
  • Maintain inventory integrity by managing asset catalog. Distribute and publish assets to the appropriate channels, including social media, community, and in-app as appropriate. 
  • Analyze and report on content use and effectiveness – either via direct providers or third-party dashboards – and offer recommendations on how to increase content adoption and interaction
  • Review and action feedback on digital content
  • Oversee YouTube channel content management to ensure video assets are up to date, accurate, and effective.
  • Help define and refine the asset lifecycle processes required to maintain the highest levels of content quality and accuracy. Take initiative and ownership with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Work on supporting projects as needed, including incorporation of GIFs and other visual elements in support articles and assisting in the maintenance of support knowledge assets
  • Maintain content calendar and work across various business groups to promote video assets to across communities and social media

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of creating digital assets (video, GIFs) for a technical audience including: script-writing, video production, screen capture, recording, editing, and voice-over design.
  • Experience with various digital capture and visual media editing tools including Camtasia, Final Cut Pro, Adobe SuiteEn, and gSuite. 
  • Comfortable with business use of social media channels (LinkedIn, YouTube) to drive user engagement with content. Can collect and interpret usage data. 
  • Experience working for a software company with an agile development cadence
  • Strong interpersonal skills, building strong relationships across all lines of business
  • Manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines yet still maintain quality
  • Organized, driven, and fast; you get the big picture, but you catch the details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and stay curious by staying on top of the rapidly changing world of the Digital Experience.
