About the Job

We are seeking an ambitious, self-initiated, and product-minded Staff Engineer with a track record of excellence at top technology ventures to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will originate, lead, and deliver on critical, 0-to-1 projects across the company while maintaining the highest level of communicative and operational excellence in your relationships with your fellow leaders.

You will join a global team, reporting to the Head of Technology. Interested and qualified candidates may hire and manage additional engineers as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Redefine how AI startups are built in healthcare. You will design and ship LLM-based technologies to unlock one of the world’s densest and highest-impact repositories of healthtech venture knowledge. You will constantly raise the bar on the level of technical sophistication that we embody and offer to our founders.

  • Architect the first AI-native healthcare venture builder. You will deeply understand the hardest parts of building global health technology ventures at scale and lead projects to supercharge our initiatives in areas from healthcare domain agentic deep research to LLM-led knowledge graph construction. 

  • Create global patient impact. As a technologist-investor, you will source, assess, inspire, and close exceptional founders, then build alongside them to launch enduring, transformative health technology companies that serve millions of patients and providers around the world.

What You’ll Need 

We value and actively seek exceptional talent from all backgrounds and experiences, recognizing that excellence takes many forms. While diverse journeys inspire us, we believe the most successful candidates for this role will share the following characteristics:

  • You hold a degree (or few) in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a similar field from a top university.

  • You have spent 6+ years in a senior technical role at a major venture-backed startup. Bonus points if you have previously founded your own startup and built a product from 0-1, or have worked in an investment environment.

  • You’ve published high-impact papers or have made significant contributions to major open-source technologies (e.g., with tens of thousands of GitHub Stars).

  • Your code is in production at global organizations or is used by thousands or millions of individuals

  • You are an expert in at least one modern language like Python and have written and/or reviewed millions of lines of code. You have become proficient in at least one LLM framework like LangChain.

  • You have built stateful agentic workflows more complex than basic RAG; bonus points if you have a pre-LLM background in knowledge graphs and semantic search.

  • Technology is one of your passions, but you find deep meaning in some other pursuit to which you’ve devoted your time, thought, and effort; for example a creative or athletic outlet, or a family business.
