POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing designated projects to ensure that objectives are achieved within prescribed time frames and budgets. This role requires strong organizational and technical writing skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to follow project workflows effectively and promptly.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
/ Assist in reviewing project proposals or plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
/ Support the development and implementation of work plans and staffing for each project phase.
/ Maintain detailed records of project progress, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
/ Prepare technical documents, status reports, and project updates for management and stakeholders.
/ Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and project personnel.
/ Identify potential issues and collaborate with the Project Manager to resolve problems promptly.
/ Track project milestones and deadlines, providing timely reminders and updates.
/ Ensure compliance with government regulations, standards, and requirements relevant to projects.
/ Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and documentation.
/ Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
/ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
/ Strong technical writing and documentation skills, ensuring clear and concise communication.
/ Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
/ Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
/ Adept at virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex).
/ Analytical problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
Education and Experience:
/ Bachelor's in Engineering from a four-year college or university
/ 1-3 years of experience in project coordination, technical writing, or a similar role in a manufacturing or project-oriented environment.
/ Exposure to scheduling, resource management, and cost estimation is a plus.

Physical Demands:
/ The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, hear and talk.

/ The employee occasionally will be required to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
/ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
/ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
/ The work environment is an office setting with periodic need to visit the plant floor.
/ This position may be required to work long hours extending into the weekends on some occasions. May also need to travel for short or extended trips as needed. Must be able and willing to travel to international and domestic sites.
