Senior Development Manager

SolRiver Capital (www.solrivercapital.com) is seeking a Senior Development Manager, an individual with at least 1-3 years’ experience as a utility scale solar or storage developer interested in managing renewable energy projects through all phases of the project development lifecycle.

The Senior Development Manager will drive the development of greenfield solar and storage projects from initial land search efforts through to commercial operation. You will have a significant amount of responsibility in this role along with significant room for growth in the company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying market opportunities, performing diligence, and negotiating purchase and lease agreements on potential development parcels
  • Managing local and national permitting on multiple projects in varied jurisdictions across the county
  • Managing a diverse group of consultants, engineers, attorneys, and other project stakeholders
  • Managing project development budgets and milestones to achieve on time and at or under cost
  • Originating and negotiating power purchase agreements
  • Interfacing directly with landowners, investors, and other project stakeholder

The chosen applicant will have experience in the following areas:

  • 1+ years of work at a utility scale solar developer, in a solar project management or development role is required
  • Must demonstrate experience with projects connecting to ISOs and PURPA
  • Proven track record of project management, land development and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Understanding of finance and energy markets
  • GIS experience – e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth, etc.
  • Experience with land acquisitions
  • Experience with project zoning / permitting
  • Experience with transmission and distribution-level interconnection
  • Experience with energy storage (a plus, not required)
  • High proficiency with project management software, in addition to MS Office suite
  • Must be hard working and comfortable with infrequent travel and extended hours
  • Must be friendly, persuasive, and a diligent person

Additional information

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $100,000 and $150,000/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and SolRiver reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, SolRiver or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
