Responsibilities

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team during the day shift at our facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in psychiatric nursing, providing direct patient care, and ensuring that individuals with behavioral health conditions receive the highest standard of care. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to manage and assess patient care needs, administer medications, and provide therapeutic support to individuals in an inpatient or outpatient behavioral health setting.Key Responsibilities:• Provide direct nursing care to patients with mental health and behavioral disorders during the day shift.• Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ physical and mental health status, documenting findings and developing care plans.• Administer medications and monitor patient reactions, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens and addressing any side effects.• Monitor vital signs and symptoms, recognizing and addressing changes in patient conditions.• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.• Maintain a therapeutic environment by de-escalating potentially volatile situations and managing patient behavior appropriately.• Provide patient and family education on mental health conditions, medications, and coping strategies.• Respond to patient needs and requests promptly, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.• Maintain detailed, accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.• Participate in team meetings, offering insights and contributing to treatment planning and care coordination.• Adhere to all safety protocols, including infection control, patient privacy, and crisis management procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1. Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards. 4. Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units. 5. Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
