Welder

Strategic Growth Partners provides both operations & strategic support to tribal 8(a) & commercial organizations. Our client is a self-performing general contractor with teams of highly skilled craftsmen employed in the most high-demand trades for federal construction and maintenance. Specializing in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing. an experienced Welder to join our team for federal and commercial projects in the Pensacola, FL area. As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components using various welding techniques. You will work closely with the Foreman and project managers to ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.

TB test will be required. Must be able to pass a background check to gain access to federal properties and secure worksites.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Welding & Fabrication: Perform various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to cut, join, and shape metal parts for different applications.

Blueprint Reading & Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy in fabrication and assembly.

System Inspection & Testing: Inspect welded joints and structures for strength, durability, and adherence to industry standards. Conduct quality control checks to meet required specifications.

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure proper operation.

Material Management: Assist in selecting, handling, and organizing metal materials and consumables to ensure efficient workflow.

Coordination with Foreman: Work closely with the Foreman and project managers to meet project deadlines and maintain a high standard of workmanship.

Team Collaboration: Work alongside pipefitters, electricians, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.

Safety & Compliance: Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations to maintain a safe worksite, including the use of PPE and adherence to proper procedures.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Welder, preferably in federal and commercial projects.

Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, as well as knowledge of various metals and welding techniques.

Mechanical Skills: Experience working with structural steel, sheet metal, and pipe welding.

Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues efficiently with minimal supervision.

Independence & Teamwork: Capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively with other team members.

Attention to Detail: Precision in cutting, measuring, and welding materials to ensure proper alignment and function.

Safety Commitment: OSHA 10. Strong awareness of job site hazards and commitment to safe work practices.

Certification: AWS certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check to gain access to federal properties and secure worksites.
