Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a Head of Payments to lead and manage our crypto-first payments strategy, ensuring seamless transaction processing, compliance, security, and treasury management. As the company expands, this role will also oversee the integration and management of fiat payment solutions, creating a hybrid payments ecosystem that balances efficiency, security, and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in crypto and fiat payments, financial operations, and risk management, preferably within the iGaming, fintech, or blockchain sectors.

As this is a fully remote role, the successful candidate will also need to demonstrate exceptional self-discipline, strong communication skills, and the ability to build trust and collaboration across distributed teams.

Role and Responsibilities

Payments & Treasury Management

  • Oversee and manage crypto and fiat transaction processing systems, ensuring secure, fast, and cost-effective deposits and withdrawals.

  • Implement treasury management strategies, maintaining liquidity for withdrawals and mitigating volatility risks.

  • Ensure optimal use of hot and cold wallets for crypto and efficient fiat liquidity management.

  • Automate reconciliation processes for accurate transaction monitoring and reporting.

Vendor & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for crypto and fiat payment processors, blockchain infrastructure providers, and banking partners.

  • Assess and manage partnerships with third-party payment providers (e.g., CoinsPaid, MoonPay, BitPay, traditional PSPs).

  • Work closely with NE Group's payment processing system to evaluate gaps and areas for improvement in both crypto and fiat transactions.

Collaboration with Internal Teams

  • Work closely with Product, Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams to streamline both crypto and fiat payment flows.

  • Support the VIP and Customer Support teams by resolving payment-related issues quickly and effectively.

  • Partner with the Marketing team to optimize bonus structures and transaction efficiency.

Continuous Improvement & Strategy

  • Optimize payment processing efficiency, reducing transaction costs and withdrawal times across crypto and fiat methods.

  • Explore and implement AI-driven fraud detection solutions for enhanced security.

  • Stay updated on blockchain, fiat, and payment industry trends, ensuring our platform remains at the forefront of innovation.

Work Experience and Skills

Essential Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in crypto and fiat payments, financial operations, or fintech, ideally in iGaming or high-risk industries.

  • Deep knowledge of blockchain transactions, fiat payment gateways, and wallet management.

  • Proven expertise in risk management, compliance (AML, KYC), and fraud detection.

  • Experience working with crypto-friendly banking partners and off-ramp providers, as well as traditional PSPs and acquiring banks.
